Heroes

These people have been such an inspiration to me:

J.K. Rowling Pictures, Images and Photos
Joanne Rowling: Author of the Harry Potter series, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Quidditch Through The Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. The biggest inspiration to my writing and the creator of my biggest passion.

Derren Brown Pictures, Images and Photos
Derren Brown: He's a genius! His psychological illusions and powers or persuasion literally make me go "wow!" and not many things can do that! I don't care if he's been in prison or enjoys playing Russian Roulette live on stage cuz I love this man!

Photobucket
Terry Christian: Biggest Man Utd supporter ever. End of!

Photobucket
David Garrett: Record breaking violinist. I will admit that I wouldn't be half as interested if he wasn't this handsome but then again, I love the sound of the violin and his skill is admirable.

Helena Bonham Carter Pictures, Images and Photos
Helena Bonham Carter: A beautiful and highly versatile British actress. I liked her best as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. I soooo wanna be like her...

Photobucket
Guy Lyon Playfair: A member of the Society of Psychical Research and an investigator of paranormal and anomalous phenomena. He wrote one of my favourite books; "This House Is Haunted" which lists a great deal of the investigation into the Enfield Poltergeist in the 1970s.

Ramsay Pictures, Images and Photos
Gordon F*cking Ramsay: Top celebrity chef famed for his fucking swearing ;)

WEEVILS

Eww, I am totally grossed out!! There were some sort of dust weevils in my chest of drawers the other day and when my mum had a look there weren't any anymore. Well they must've gone somewhere!! It's freaky as fuck - I DO NOT like insects even if they are tiny. I looked them up on the internet and now I'm paranoid about everything small and parasitic: bed bugs, silverfish, scabies, fleas, dust mites, flour weevils, moths, spiders, flies, fungi, lice, crabs... EW EW EWWW!!!!
Well we are having cavity wall insulation put in tomorrow and I had better pack away my crystal ball, Bob Marley ash tray, skull, glass dome and coffin jewellery box so they don't get broken - maybe the insulation will stop the corners of my room growing mould and the insides of my chest of drawers getting damp which will ultimately stop gross bugs infesting my furniture.
Buggeration! Having the biggest bedroom has its downsides: two of the walls face outside which means I have two windows and it gets occasionally damp and cold in here. Never mind. Maybe it will inspire a poem...

There was a young girl called Holly,
She lived in the state of her folly,
She ran for the door
When she found in her drawer
Something which made her not jolly...

Not bad off the top of my head, eh? ;)

Ludwig Van Beethoven

Beethoven Pictures, Images and Photos

The most handsome depiction of Ludwig Van Beethoven I could find.
And yet he was indeed a black man!
He would be astonished if he lived now and saw what people thought he looked like - and I can imagine a little hurt too.

Could YOU imagine yourself painted a different colour than what you are? I don't think I could...

Most extraordinary

Cool quotes

"Do not worry about your difficulties in mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater"
- Albert Einstein

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
- Albert Einstein

"A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject"
- Sir Winston Churchill

"I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who overcomes his enemies"
- Aristotle

"We make war that we may live in peace"
- Aristotle

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him"
- Mark Twain

"One must have a good memory to be able to keep the promises one makes"
- Friedrich Nietzsche

Just a few of my personal favourites...

Amazing Hungarians

I'm part Hungarian so I thought it fitting to produce a memoir of all the genius Hungarians of our time. They are really smart people - some guys underestimate Hungary...

Photobucket
Gabor Domokos - inventor of the Gomboc: The world's first man-made object with equilibrium properties that allows it to right itself no matter how it is stood up. See? A mono-monostatic object IS possible! It's like a turtle shell! :D

LASZLO JOZSEF BIRO Pictures, Images and Photos
Laszlo Biro - inventor of the first ballpoint pen in 1938... you guessed it: the Biro ;)

Photobucket
Ignac Semmelweis - discovered the puerperal fever pathogen (often called childbed fever and affected mostly mothers). He found a way to prevent the infection and almost totally stopped it.

Erno Rubik Pictures, Images and Photos
Erno Rubik - invented the Rubik's cube: apparently it highly increases logical abilities. I must try it sometime...

Genius poet/playwright

Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

- Oscar Wilde

That is quite a good quote :) and very true.

Daniel Williams' 21st!

Today it is my brother's 21st birthday. I got him a tank top (that's right; you got a problem with that?) lol and we went to Kasmiri or summat to eat. We as in Holly, Daniel, Mum, Dad, Katie and Beech who came later - two others were meant to be coming but never mind. It is really nice there... the waiters noticed Daniel's flashing badge and got him a free ice-cream with a sparkler in it that would not go out for ages lol :D . I decided that my brother is like one of them toys that you get; the ones that you talk to and they reply but they've only got a limited amount of responses so they can be a bit random? It's cuz my mum goes before we set off "Is it warm in the restaurant?" and my brother replies "Errr... it's an Indian restaurant!" - WTF has that got to do with temperature?! Lol, anyway that became his response to every question this evening haha. I think we are all a bit tipsy... I only had a couple of Cobras but it was enough haha. The way back to the car was funny as! It is all snowy so it was a bit slippery and I'm wearing peep-toe high heels and a mini-skirt so it was slightly undignified; I was holding on to Katie for dear life until my dad got hold of me and dragged me along to the car where we all had a snowball fight :D . Then Katie pointed out that there was now six of us having to travel in a five seater car.... hmmm :P :D

What a line...

"Abraham Lincoln's opponent accused him of being two faced, to which Lincoln replied 'If I had two faces, do you think I'd wear this one?'"

Awesome one-liner.

What a legend ;)

God's work??

I HATE snow. It's cold, slippery and cold! :P But at the moment I love it because it's given me three days off school so far (I was meant to go in on Monday but I didn't for various reasons) which means plenty of writing time. It's really bright n'all so it sort of feels like summer even though it's not the sun producing the direct light, it's the light reflected off the white surface of the snow which makes everything nice and light and airy. :) I actually prayed to God this morning lol. I was like "Alright mate, listen: I'm not being lazy or anything... well, I am but let's be honest, you didn't think of thoses 7 Deadly Sins did ya, eh? No! So do forgive me for my sloth but I reeeeeeeeaaaaally don't wanna go to school today and I would be ever so grateful if you closed it for me *puppy eyes*". So yeah, He did. Could've been coincidence but that's not the first time it's worked and I'm a right sinner. Tells you summat about the grief doctrinated christians put themselves through, eh? And they still don't get what they're after! All you have to do is ask nicely and God wants us all to be happy, don't he? :) I mean, I have practised "divination", I'm bisexual, I've not exactly been innocent and the amount of alcohol I can drink sometimes is fucking ridiculus! Yet my prayers are, in general, answered! Maybe it's a wiccan God, or Allah, or Krishna but to be honest it don't matter - someone's looking after me up there ;)

Writer's Block

I have writers block. I have nearly finished writing a timeline of key events in my novel but now I realise that there are huge gaps in the plot that MUST be filled! It's sooo stressful! I've still to write detailed character histories and town maps, not to mention draft out an opening and an ending... It's a never ending list of to-dos before I'm able to start writing!! I will persevere though; as Joanne Rowling says "Perseverance. You've got to persevere, because it is a career with a lot of knock-backs but the rewards are huge."

I love that woman :)

Apology

I would like to take this time to apologise for my long winded rants. I know they must be extremely boring to read.
